Why you SHOULDN’T use fire foam to install a Quadra Riser Door

A question we often get asked is ‘Can I use fire foam to install a Quadra Riser Door?’

Well here’s your answer…

Yes or No?

The Selo Quadra riser door is not tested with fire foam and while some expanding foams come stating they are fire rated they are very rarely, if at all, fire tested in the specific situation you have here, with a steel door frame into a stud partition or masonry wall.

So, the simple answer is no it shouldn’t be used, but, on that point, fire foam really doesn’t need to be used.

Your Solution

Quadra is supplied with Quench, our pre-fitted fire-stopping system so no extra fire stopping, like intumescent mastic is required.

The frame is also pre-fitted with adjustable packers so no packers are required.

Simple and sustainable.
